About this service

TradeEstimator ("we", "us", "the service") is operated by Code Impact, Queensland, Australia. By using this service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

How estimates are produced

Estimates are generated by combining structured reference pricing data with an AI model (Anthropic Claude). The categories, output schema, and pricing reference ranges are defined in our code and reflect curated Australian market rates. The AI applies those parameters to your specific inputs to produce a result.

This is not an unconstrained AI output. Significant effort has gone into calibrating the pricing rules for each trade category and Australian state. However, all estimates are indicative only and subject to the limitations described below.

Estimates are indicative only

All estimates generated by TradeEstimator are for general guidance purposes only. They are not a quote, contract, tender, or guarantee of any kind.

Actual costs will vary depending on your specific site conditions, material choices, tradie availability, geographic location, and market conditions at the time of work. You should always obtain at least three written quotes from licensed tradies before committing to any work.

No liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, TradeEstimator and its operators accept no liability for any loss, damage, or cost arising from your use of, or reliance on, any estimate or information provided by this service.

This includes financial loss resulting from decisions made based on our estimates, disputes with tradies, or costs incurred as a result of inaccurate estimates. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by contract.

Detailed Estimate purchases

A Detailed Estimate is a one-time purchase in Australian dollars, processed by Stripe. Once purchased, the detailed breakdown is permanently accessible from your dashboard.

Refunds. Because a Detailed Estimate is generated immediately upon purchase, it is non-refundable once the result has been displayed. If you experience a technical failure preventing access to your result, contact us at hello@tradeestimator.com.au and we will resolve it or issue a refund. Refunds are otherwise at our discretion except where required by Australian Consumer Law.

Price changes. We may change the price of a Detailed Estimate at any time. Any price change applies to future purchases only.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must not share your account or use it on behalf of others without our consent. We may suspend accounts that we reasonably believe are being misused.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse this service, including attempting to disrupt the service, using automated tools to generate large volumes of estimates, reverse engineering our pricing methodology, or attempting to extract proprietary data or systems.

Intellectual property

The software, design, pricing methodology, and content on this site are the property of TradeEstimator. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email where reasonably practicable. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
